Planning and Building Control Manager (North) - 12 Month FTC - Leeds

Role: Planning And Building Control Manager - 12 Months FTC

Salary: £36,000 to £41,000 Pro Rata + Company Car

Location: Based in Leeds - Weekly travelling covering the North East and North West of England

As the next Planning and Building Control Manager, you will play a crucial role in actively seeking new business opportunities, attending client meetings, preparing documentation for planning authorities, and overseeing the financial performance of your area. This position is about achieving success and making a tangible impact on the business. Your role will involve overseeing project work, ensuring completion within budget and agreed timelines, and managing risks effectively.

You will need to conduct site visits to accurately assess costs using standard charge schedules. Assigning tasks, monitoring progress against deadlines, and ensuring work meets quality standards and customer expectations will all fall under your remit. Working alongside a team, you will collaborate on finding ways to enhance operations and support each other in generating ideas to drive the business forward.

As a Planning and Building Control Manager, you should possess confidence, adaptability, and a passion for overcoming challenges. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the business, allowing you to develop essential skills for advancement within the company. Training will be provided by experienced Planning and Building Control Managers at different sites.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience developing and growing parts of the business
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships
  • Knowledge of building regulations
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of planning legislation
  • Ability to gather comprehensive information to support decision making
  • Monitoring performance against deadlines
  • Driving license (a hire car will be provided for travel to customer sites)
