Role Summary and Impact

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team as an Account Director.

As Account Director, you are critical to the delivery of this ambition; working closely with the Business Director, you will be a key interface for our clients and lead planning projects from start to finish, acting as the conduit who brings together our specialists to deliver exceptional work.

The Account Director needs to have a strong understanding of all media channels and the role these play in overall communications solutions and customer journeys and crucially how media drives business results for clients.

Based in our new WPP campus building in the heart of Manchester’s development district, the largest communications operation outside of London and the home for all WPP regional talent across a number of business disciplines, and an amazing place to grow your communications career and to realise your potential in a dynamic and exciting setting.

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the account, ensuring flow and accuracy of work – ensure the campaign management process follows best practice, you are across all communications and establish yourself as the first port of call for clients.
  • Build a strong relationship with your clients and become a trusted strategic partner – showing a deep understanding of your clients’ business and how communications can drive growth.
  • Be a confident and competent communications planner who demonstrates a thorough understanding of our Systems Planning approach, while leading our planning responses from start to finish, ensuring we have a seamless working process with the implementational and specialist teams.
  • Own day to day media plan delivery for your clients’ campaigns & support with identifying and managing holistic budget and channel optimisations to drive client business performance and deliver sales.
  • Grow your understanding of digital, data, and marketing technology - work closely with the Digital Implementation team to ensure growth and innovation is weaved into our planning.
  • Strong understanding of your clients’ business & KPIs and how we are remunerated across the account
  • Contribute to the commercial targets set for your business group by proactively identifying and pursuing additional services opportunities on your clients.
  • Contribute to the monthly billing processes and monthly laydowns are up-to-date and accurate to ensure your accounts are in perfect financial health.
  • Develop strong internal relationships with Planners outside of your team, as well as implementation and measurement specialist across the business as well supporting your BD in the development of your team.
  • Promote your team’s brilliant work, both within EssenceMediacom and beyond.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to agency wide initiatives (i.e., huddles, stretches, pitches, etc).
