Annual salary: up to £28,305.00

Planner/Works Programmer

Rotherham

Salary up to £28,305 per annum

Full time – Permanent, 42.5hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Mears works in partnership with the Ministry of Justice to run the CAS 3 project in the Northwest, Northeast, Yorkshire & the Humber regions of the UK. This is one part of a wider project to reduce reoffending, through the provision of temporary accommodation. The project accommodates and provides services to people on probation – this means adult offenders of all genders who are 18 or above who have been released as homeless from prison following a custodial sentence or from approved premises.

About the Role:

As a Planner within our Rotherham branch, you will be part of a local repairs team ensuring that work orders are scheduled through the appointment system, repairs jobs are allocated to trade operatives and ensure all works are completed with minimal turnaround time.

Day-To-Day Duties:

  • Support the scheduling of operative and sub-contract resources to ensure effective resource management, delivery of a customer focussed repairs service, and the achievement of performance targets.

  • Monitor and update repair jobs on an ongoing basis. This includes jobs are raised and booked within target times, cancelled appropriately, tracked if they gave no appointments, addressed if overdue, and that all follow on work is actioned by the end of the day.

  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and both internal/external stakeholders.

  • Ensure that IT systems are used effectively and that operatives are using and updating their PDA’s.

Role Criteria:

  • Previous planning experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Ability to manage your own workload effectively

  • Good decision making & multitasking abilities

  • IT Literate – confident using emails, Microsoft Teams and Excel

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Good telephone manner

  • Comfortable working across multiple systems
