Job summary

A local government authority in Scotland is seeking a qualified Planner to support its Planning Service. The successful candidate will manage development activities, including handling breaches in planning control and processing applications. A Degree in Planning and RTPI membership are essential, along with strong communication and time management skills. This is a temporary position for up to 2 years, subject to funding.

Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to contribute to the Council's high quality Planning Service and be involved in a variety of interesting projects and developments.

We are looking to recruit an appropriately qualified and suitably experienced Planner who will have a responsibility for a variety of development management activities including investigating and resolving identified breaches in planning control, compliance monitoring of developments and processing of a range of planning applications/consents.

You must have a Degree in Planning or equivalent discipline and have membership of RTPI. Knowledge of planning legislation and development management regulations is essential as is effective communication, I.T, customer care and time management skills.

Experience of dealing with a range of planning applications is essential along with the ability to work as part of a team while using your own initiative to work to tight deadlines with the minimum of supervision.

A full, current driving licence is also essential.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 2 years or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
