Job description

As the planner/scheduler you will report directly to the Projects & Materials Manager and will be responsible for coordinating and optimising production activities to meet both demand and quality standards. Your primary focus is to ensure that goods are manufactured and assembled efficiently and on time to meet our customer timeframes. You will be required to find the means, tools and processes to ensure that the Company remains one step ahead. This includes communication with internal and external stake holders to produce production plans, project plans and various reports, focusing on work breakdown in Primavera P6 or similar tools reflecting structures, critical path, resource loading, and coding. It is expected that you will produce, review, and revise a logically linked P6 plan and manage the process from start to finish liaising with all departments to ensure the program stays on track. As we all strive to be one step ahead you are expected to foresee risks of possible program slippage, its impact and inform the Projects & Materials Manager of such risks. You perform a crucial role in ensuring the business success by ensuring the efficient flow of production operations.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily management of projects both renewals & maintenance,
  • Managing the workflow across multiple processes and products, ensuring materials, equipment and manpower are allocated correctly,
  • Determine the necessary manpower, equipment and raw materials required to meet production demands,
  • Closely monitor progress of orders to ensure timely completion within budget,
  • Plan and prioritise operations to maximise performance and minimise delays,
  • Develop the appropriate quality plans/schedules in line with projects scheduling principles and processes,
  • Monitor the plan and make the necessary changes as required, utilising recovery scheduled and contingency plans in order to meet objectives when required,
  • Interact & support effective information sharing/collation with all project stakeholders,
  • Accurate data entry &collection from timesheets, production documents into ERP system,
  • Organising & maintaining retrievable documentation for both Internal and External audits.


Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as a production planner within a manufacturing background, in particular rail is desirable,
  • Experience of production ERP/MRP systems such as Epicur's, iScala or SAP,
  • Excellent data entry accuracy with strong planning, organisational and administration skills,
  • Intermediate level of MS Word, Power Point and Outlook,
  • Intermediate to Advanced level of MS Excel knowledge,
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes,

What we offer
  • Base Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependant on experience),
  • Core Hours: between 35.5per week:
    • 0800 – 1600 Monday,
    • 0800 – 1630 Tuesday – Thursday,
    • 0800 – 1200 Friday,
  • Annual Leave: 22 Days PLUS 10 Bank Holidays including Christmas Closure,
  • Breaks: Daily 30min Unpaid Lunch Break,
  • Bonuses: Eligible for 2 Annual Bonuses:
