We currently have a vacancy for a Planner.
Aim of the role
The Planner will work closely with Design, Land, Partnerships, and Technical teams to secure new development land, deliver planning permissions for residential development, and manage trackers related to planning consents and s106 agreements.
Key duties include:
- Progressing and managing the planning process to achieve planning permission within appropriate timeframes.
- Providing town planning advice and coordinating with various departments to assist with land purchase and planning matters.
- Assessing planning risks prior to land purchase.
- Overseeing and managing the Project Planning Team.
- Investigating development potential and risks for each opportunity.
- Managing external consultants as appropriate.
- Considering all planning issues related to land, including archaeological, ecological, highways, services, TIA’s, EIA’s, BNG, etc.
- Instructing and liaising with solicitors for planning documentation such as S106 agreements.
- Coordinating and managing public exhibitions and presentations for strategic land and planning applications.
- Attending meetings with Parish Councils and other bodies as needed.
- Responding to Committee agendas/reports and representing the company at planning committees.
- Collaborating with architects on feasibility schemes for strategic opportunities.
- Attending site meetings as required.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of planning matters and providing advice.
- Preparing project development assessments.
- Coordinating planning appeals with the Development Director to ensure effective management.
Candidate requirements:
- Member of RTPI or degree in Town & Country Planning.
- Good knowledge of local authority policies.
- Strong relationships with local authorities and planning consultants.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration experience.
- Full UK driving license and ability to travel.
- Proficient in IT skills, including Office, Word, and Excel.
