Planner

Location: Nottinghamshire

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to support a unique, nationwide discipline in their search for a Planner. The group are experts at handling the complexities of the planning system and can assist on a broad range of planning expertise, whether relating to residential, commercial, or other sectors. They can assess site feasibility all the way through to negotiating planning permission.

Candidates are required to have:

  • 3-5 years' minimum professional experience working in the public or private sector
  • Hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • Urban Design and master planning understanding would be beneficial
  • Whilst not necessary, the potential to bring along new clients or contacts may be useful

What does the role involve?

  • Acting as a brand ambassador responsible for developing new client relationships and providing a more experienced lead on complex planning proposals
  • Contributing towards business development and wider company objectives
  • Independent preparation, submission, and management of planning applications and appeals
  • Lending support to the wider team and mentoring junior members
  • Attendance and presentation at appeal hearings and examination in public
  • S106 negotiations
  • Networking and business development
  • Fee budgets and management
  • Securing client repeat business and some self-generated new projects/client leads
  • Practice promotion and marketing
  • Presentations to secure new projects
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members
