Planner – Northampton

£65,000 – £85,000 + Package

Multi-disciplinary Main Contractor – Build & Civils

We are working with a highly respected main contractor with a proven track record across both the building and civil engineering sectors. As part of their continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join their team based in Northampton.

The Role:

You will play a key role in the planning function across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting both tender and live works across building and civil engineering disciplines. This role requires someone who is highly organised, commercially aware, and able to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes for both tender and live projects
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure key deliverables are achieved on time and within budget
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and update schedules accordingly
  • Provide input into method statements, sequencing, and logistics planning
  • Monitor critical path activities and identify potential risks or delays
  • Assist with resource and cost loading as required
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Planner within a main contracting environment
  • Experience working on both building and civil engineering projects
  • Strong working knowledge of planning software such as Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
