We are the beating heart of our UK operations, with a network of cutting-edge sites powered by smart tech and exceptional teams. No two days are ever the same – and that’s just how we like it.

This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the Hatfield office. We offer free onsite parking and a shuttle bus service from the station.

About the role: 12 month FTC / Hybrid

We’re looking for a Planner to join our Planning team at Ocado Logistics.

In this shift-based role, you’ll be responsible for planning and managing labour resources across logistics operations. You’ll help ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time to deliver a seamless grocery experience.

You’ll work closely with multiple teams and partners, using data to drive decisions and proactively resolve challenges.

What you’ll be doing – key responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage logistics labour resources to meet operational demand while maintaining KPIs (e.g. overtime, surplus)
  • Maintain accurate Time & Attendance data for logistics employees
  • Manage rosters, holidays, and employee availability, including requests and shift swaps
  • Forecast labour needs and liaise with agencies, monitoring fulfilment and performance
  • Identify resource constraints and capacity risks, escalating where needed
  • Collaborate with Operations, People teams, Finance, and other departments to ensure efficient resourcing
  • Support continuous improvement, suggesting process efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
  • Handle internal roster queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Occasional travel to other UK sites required

About you – what we’re looking for:

  • Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication – confident speaking with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in resource planning or logistics is an advantage
  • Strong admin and customer service background with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Suite and MS Office
  • Proactive, analytical and solutions-focused mindset
  • Flexible with shift patterns, including weekends on rotation

Additional info:

  • Fixed Term Contract (12 months)
  • Interviews held via Google Meet – two stages with a mix of technical, behavioural, and experience-based questions
  • Great opportunity to learn more about the role and team during the process

What you’ll get in return:

At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued. That’s why we offer a collaborative, inclusive culture, along with a competitive benefits package, including:

  • 30 days work-from-anywhere policy
  • 25 days annual leave (rising to 27) + option to buy more
  • Up to 7% employer pension contribution
  • Private medical insurance
  • Employee discounts – 15% off at Ocado.com and high street retailers
  • Share schemes and income protection
  • Free shuttle bus & onsite parking
  • Cycle to Work & season ticket loans
  • Supportive leave policies – parental, adoption, paternity and more
