A dynamic agency in Edinburgh is seeking a Planner to enhance their marketing strategies. In this role, you will blend consumer insights with creativity to deliver compelling strategies. The ideal candidate is curious, experienced in strategic thinking, and eager to contribute to impactful work within a collaborative team environment.
We’re all about giving our clients an Unfair Advantage. Our innovative agency system creates and validates meaningful and unique marketing ideas, giving our clients confidence we’ll get the commercial results that make their boards (and us) happy. But the real magic? Our Guys. We hire diverse minds, invite challenge, have each other’s backs, and invest in helping everyone smash their potential.
We’re looking for a Planner to join the team. Working directly with the Planning Director and Senior Planner, you’ll support and shape planning and strategy across brand, comms, digital and innovation, and implement our in-house research offering.
About the role
As the Planning Department we are responsible for the quality of the thinking in the agency. We set standards, push boundaries and are fundamental to cracking the un-figure-out-able.
We create inspiration and shape the course for every client.
We are the voice of the consumer and must constantly bring the consumer perspective to the table.
We deal in facts but wrap them in intuition and original perspective. We think logically and laterally to see things differently and ‘walk in stupid’ to every challenge.
Through our thinking, discoveries and strategies we inspire creative brilliance and client confidence. We are the holders of the agency secret sauce – our testing methodology that creates ‘Confidence to challenge’.
As Planner you are vital to every project you are involved in. You constantly look for ways to add value through research, insight and observation. You stay in touch with society, culture, and the trends that are changing it. You thrive on variety, champion effectiveness and ask the questions others don’t.
and your core purpose is distilling consumer insights into actionable strategies that lead to bravely effective work for clients.
You can own our testing methodology and back catalogue and bridge the worlds of creative and research to build confidence in reaching bravely effective results with clarity, synthesizing complex data into findings, balancing analytics with intuition to identify unconventional solutions others may have overlooked, and presenting them with clarity.
You share and inspire and are constantly curious. Your input shapes and enables the creative development process, including briefing and enthusing creative teams and providing feedback in response to consumer research findings.
You build on every project to be constantly evolving and growing your own, and the wider agency’s skillsets.
Could this be you?
Of course you’ll need to be curious, inquisitive, and creative. Able to crack tricky briefs, express original observations in compelling ways, identify impact and take people with you.
But most of all we need someone who is keen and hungry to grow and develop and do the best work they can. Someone who knows their home is in strategy and loves what they do.
And you have probably walked the walk a bit already – ideally with a few years experience in a similar role with real exposure to strategy and thinking.
Although we're far more interested in the person than the CV - someone who doesn't follow a strict job description and is excited by what we're doing.
