Job summary

Greencore Group plc in Old Leake (near Boston) seeks a Planner to create daily production plans, manage stock levels and drive efficient operation to meet customer demand.

You will forecast requirements, monitor performance and identify improvements to reduce costs while coordinating with internal teams and external customers in a fast-paced site environment.

Qualifications

Experience in a planning role within a fast-paced FMCG environment is desirable, training can be provided.
Strong numerical ability with data analysis and informed decision making.
Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.
Proficient IT user, particularly Excel, with willingness to enhance capability.
Proactive problem solver who takes initiative and resolves challenges quickly.
Highly organised and adaptable to changing priorities.
Strong collaborator who builds trusted relationships with teams and stakeholders.
Keen eye for detail in planning, forecasting and reporting.
Positive and resilient approach to supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities

Plan and prioritise production to maximise efficiency while meeting customer service targets.

Monitor factory performance daily and ensure strong operational flow.

Our site in Old Leake, just outside Boston, Lincolnshire, specialises in chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer. The site employs around 700 people and operates in a fast-paced production environment.

What you’ll be doing

As a Planner, you will create daily production plans, manage stock levels and ensure the factory runs efficiently to meet customer demand. You will forecast requirements, track performance and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs. Acting as a key link between departments, you will communicate effectively with colleagues and customers to support smooth operational performance every day.

Manage stock levels across finished goods, WIP and offsite inventory accurately and proactively
Monitor factory performance daily, ensuring strong operational flow and timely delivery
Forecast production needs to support material availability and labour planning
Track, analyse and improve KPIs to support continuous operational excellence
Collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
Identify and implement improvements to reduce costs, enhance efficiency and optimise planning processes

What we’re looking for

Experience in a planning role within a fast‑paced or FMCG environment is desirable, but not essential, as full training can be provided for the right candidate.
Strong numerical ability with confidence analysing data and making informed decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, supporting effective cross‑functional working
Proficient IT user, particularly skilled in Excel, with willingness to enhance technical capability further
Proactive problem solver, able to take initiative and resolve challenges quickly
Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities effectively
Strong collaborator who builds trusted relationships with teams and stakeholders
Keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy across planning, forecasting and reporting
Positive and resilient approach, supporting smooth daily operations and service improvement
