Job description

Job Description

Planner

Location: Beaconsfield

At the heart of Sorbon Estates’ mission, we focus on transforming buildings and neighbourhoods through sustainable and innovative property development. We prioritise long-term property investment, development and asset management, focusing on income growth and creating well-designed properties that deliver sustained value and attract a diverse range of occupiers and businesses.

At Sorbon Estates, we are deeply committed to the communities we develop. We aim to create a lasting positive legacy by ensuring our developments enrich their surroundings and contribute meaningfully to local life.

What sets this role apart

We are seeking a Planner to join our expanding team, supporting planning and development across our growing portfolio. This is a great step for someone aiming to move into a client-side role where you can directly influence project outcomes.

This Planning role blends planning expertise with development management including preparing feasibility sketches, elevations, and leading public consultations to deliver commercial value. You will also assist with acquisitions through site visits and appraisals.

This unique client-side role lets you own projects from early feasibility to planning and beyond while working with a skilled in-house team. Unlike advisory roles, your input shapes the success of commercial and mixed-use developments.

About you

  • 5 plus years’ experience in town planning or development management.
  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or related field.
  • Strong planning policy knowledge, commercial awareness, and feasibility skills.
  • Confident communicator and negotiator with experience liaising with LPAs and stakeholders.
  • Growth mindset, proactive, ready to hit the ground running.
  • Self-starter with excellent organisation and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable working at pace, problem-solving, and contributing to a dynamic team.

What you will enjoy

  • Proactive, welcoming and solutions-focused team.
  • Modern, newly renovated office in Beaconsfield Old Town with free parking and nearby cafés, restaurants, and green spaces.
  • Excellent transport links close to the M40 and Beaconsfield train station.
  • Financially strong, privately owned business combining long-term vision with entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Competitive salary plus discretionary annual and long-term bonuses up to 15 percent.
  • Generous annual leave of 25 days rising to 30 plus public holidays.
  • Enhanced pension scheme and free life assurance.
  • Wellbeing benefits including on-demand GP service, fitness classes, gym discounts, cycle scheme, and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Lifestyle discounts on retail, travel, tech, and more.
  • Regular company events and socials.
