Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Planner to support key project deliverables across our nuclear project portfolio. You will create, maintain and manage the Programme of Work for your area, coordinating activities and delivering schedule integrity.

The role requires extensive experience in planning and scheduling, with proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and Excel, and the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional and international teams.

Qualifications

  • Establish project activities, logic, calendars and milestones.
  • Coordinate programme inputs with stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress through weekly/monthly planning cycles.
  • Assess impact of scope changes, variances and delays.
  • Maintain programme integrity with routine health checks (DCMA).
  • Provide detailed analysis of progress for variance narratives.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project and Excel.
  • Experience with EPS/OBS/config in multi-user environments is advantageous.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Integrate subcontractor programmes into the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional/international teams.
  • High attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Lead planning efforts and mentor others.
  • Several years of planning/scheduling experience.
  • Understand time-cost-commercial links in the project lifecycle.
  • Exposure to Defence, Nuclear, Engineering, or Consulting sectors is a plus.

Job description

We are recruiting a Senior Planner - the role will support key project deliverables across our nuclear project portfolio at an exciting time in the project to join an established team of Planners. Accountable to the Planning Lead and Senior Project Controls Manager you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing the Programme of Work for your responsible area. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Establish project activities, logic, calendars and milestones.
  • Coordinate programme inputs with respective stakeholders.
  • Monitor actual progress against planned progress through weekly and monthly programme planning cycles.
  • Support impact assessment of scope changes, variances, delays and dependencies on the programme.
  • Maintain integrity of the programme via routine health checks (DCMA etc).
  • Provide detailed analysis of programme progress to scope owner in support of variance narrative.
  • Planning & Scheduling Expertise: Advanced knowledge of scheduling methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex schedule data and provide actionable insights.
  • Systems Proficiency: Skilled in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel
  • Experience managing and administering Oracle Primavera P6, Experience in multi-user project environments, including configuration of EPS, OBS, calendars, resources, and activity codes would be an advantage
  • Experience with implementing and executing Earned Value Management.
  • Demonstrative experience of integrating subcontractor programmes into the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present schedule data clearly to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional and international teams to develop and maintain programme.
  • Quality & Accuracy: High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead planning efforts and support less experienced colleagues across various functions.
  • Several years of experience in project planning and scheduling roles.
  • Understand the inter-relationship between time, cost and commercial aspects of the project life cycle.
  • Exposure to Defence, Nuclear, Engineering, or Consulting sectors is a plus.
