Job summary

London Sport is recruiting a Senior Development Manager to lead the Place Expansion work in Barking & Dagenham, delivering on partnership and capacity-building objectives within Sport England’s national programme. You will steer governance, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of learning across multiple streams.

The role requires extensive collaboration with VCFSE sectors, statutory bodies, and the Place Partnership group, with a mix of central London office time and home-working.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to engage diverse communities and build trusted relationships in Barking & Dagenham.
• Experience delivering complex programmes with multi-stakeholder input.
• Strong planning and governance skills for Place Expansion work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Barking & Dagenham Place Expansion workstream and Part of the Place Partnership group.
• Oversee programme management, governance, and contracting processes.
• Coordinate capacity building with VCSEF organisations and stakeholders across London.
• Manage a substantial investment budget and MEL activities to measure impact.
• Ensure alignment with London Sport strategy and Sport England funding requirements.
