Job summary

Grimsby Town Football Club is seeking a Grounds Person to support high-quality grounds maintenance across Blundell Park, the Training Ground and Academy Facility. You will prepare and maintain pitches for First Team and Academy use, operate mowing equipment, mark lines, drive tractors, and complete maintenance tasks on time.

The role emphasizes teamwork, initiative, and a proactive approach to safety and ground conditions. A positive attitude and genuine interest in sports turf are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sporting environment.
• General grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to complete tasks within required timeframe.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work using own initiative and with others.
• Have a positive attitude to work.
• Motivated and driven to achieve.
• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Complete allocated ground maintenance tasks from start to finish within required timeframes.
• Prepare, inspect and maintain pitches for First Team and Academy training and matches.
• Support routine maintenance, seasonal renovations and improvements to playing surfaces.
• Maintain surrounding grounds, irrigation and drainage systems.
• Grass cutting using ride-on and pedestrian mowers.
• Mark lines on pitches with battery or wheel-to-wheel markers.
• Drive tractors and operate 3-point linkage machines (aerating, fertiliser, grass cutting).
• Repair damage to grass pitches from training schedules.
• Tidy and cut bushes and shrubs with hand or power tools.
• Maintain and operate equipment such as strimmers and mowers.
• Carry out general maintenance tasks and other duties as required.
