Job Opportunity: Piping Materials Engineer

Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) is the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR, a leading global engineering, construction, and services company. KBR supports the hydrocarbon and government services markets across six continents, offering challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.

We are seeking to recruit a Piping Materials Engineer for a contract of 6 months or more, based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

On Offer:

• Competitive hourly pay rate
• Outside IR35, highly likely so engagement via a Ltd Co. is permitted
• Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop piping materials deliverables, including material classes considering metallurgy and process conditions.
2. Produce technical specifications for piping materials, valves, and special piping components.
3. Prepare material requisitions for piping items, including valves, piping bulk items, and special piping components.
4. Conduct technical evaluations of vendor submissions and provide recommendations.

Skills / Experience:

1. Knowledge of applicable industry standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API, BS EN).
2. Technical knowledge of piping material activities and deliverables.
3. Experience reviewing wall thickness calculations for internal and external pressures in accordance with ASME codes.
4. Experience in specifying materials such as super duplex, stainless steel, carbon steel, and GRE.
5. Good communication skills.
