The role involves leading a design team, delivering 2D & 3D piping deliverables using AutoCAD Plant 3D, and ensuring technical excellence across all project stages. Qualifications

• Proven experience in 3D piping design within regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (ASME, BSi, ISO).
• Skilled in AutoCAD Plant 3D and associated tools.
• Strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Must hold (or be eligible to obtain) SC clearance.

• Overseeing piping design across all project stages from concept to commissioning.

• Liaising with multiple disciplines and supporting wider CAD requirements.
• Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members.

Overview

I'm looking for an experienced Lead Piping Designer to join a growing Projects Group on an initial 6-month contract based in Cheshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and mentor a design team working on projects across energy, chemical and highly regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of piping designers, 3D designers and draughtspersons
• Delivering 2D & 3D drawings, models, and piping deliverables using AutoCAD Plant 3D and more
• Overseeing piping design across all project stages - from concept through to commissioning
• Ensuring technical excellence while meeting client specifications and deadlines
• Liaising with multiple disciplines and supporting wider CAD requirements
• Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members
