Job summary

PD&MS Group requires a Piping Department Head to lead the piping discipline across the UK and international locations, including project delivery and client engagement. The role combines engineering leadership, resource management and technical authority.

The candidate should be a Chartered Engineer (preferred) with extensive experience in Detailed Design, Checking/Approval, and cross-disciplinary coordination. A hybrid work model in Aberdeen or Glasgow is offered with 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Qualifications: BSc in relevant Engineering Discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Significant experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking/Approval.
• Experience in managing and developing others.
• Understanding of all Engineering disciplines.
• Thorough knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry Codes & Standards.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Design products.
• Competent in MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall discipline leadership for piping within PD&MS Group across the UK, Baku, India and future locations.
• Assure quality and technical content of engineering deliverables and ensure design integrity.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and procurement to identify dependencies and drive delivery.
• Manage resources, coaching and mentoring to build capability and performance.
• Prepare and approve estimates and tender packages for departmental work.
• Represent PD&MS with clients, suppliers and certifying authorities in a professional manner.
