At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. If you join us, you can play your part as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and support services, working as a single entity to install complex cabling and pipework across 2,500 rooms.

The role

As a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping, you will lead and manage the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.

You will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks, support the MEH Alliance programme, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

• Facilitate the use of the Procon system for construction activities and progress reporting.
• Ensure adherence to Work Authorization and Permit systems managed by NNB.
• Coordinate safe access routes to workfaces.
• Conduct surveys to support construction projects.
• Manage documentation to enable construction activities according to the plan, with acceptance three months prior to start.
• Ensure all documents comply with latest work information and MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential Experience

• Experience in major construction projects, with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent vocational training and experience in installing Mechanical and Piping systems.

Security Clearance

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance. Details at GOV.UK.
