Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking a Pipefitter/Brazer/Mechanical Fitter in Milton Keynes to install and assemble pipework on rolling stock. You will braze copper to a high standard and connect pneumatic, hydraulic and cooling systems.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble pipework systems on rolling stock per drawings and specs.
• Carry out copper brazing to a high standard.
• Install and connect pneumatic, hydraulic and cooling pipework.
• Measure, cut, bend and prepare pipework to tolerances.
• Fit valves, brackets, supports and pipework components.
• Carry out pressure and leak testing as required.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics and work instructions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and production teams to hit build targets.
• Ensure work complies with quality and safety procedures.
• Identify and report defects or non-conformances.

Job description

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: Up to £38,000 (depending on experience)

Shift Pattern: Weekly Rotation – 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00

Overtime: 1.5x Monday-Friday | 2x Saturday & Sunday

Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Install and assemble pipework systems on rolling stock in accordance with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Carry out brazing of copper and associated pipework to a high standard.
• Install and connect pneumatic, hydraulic and cooling pipework systems.
• Measure, cut, bend and prepare pipework to the required tolerances.
• Fit valves, brackets, supports and associated pipework components.
• Carry out pressure and leak testing where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions.
• Work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical and production teams to achieve build targets.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with quality standards and health & safety procedures.
• Identify and report any defects or non-conformances.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Pipefitter, Brazer, Mechanical Fitter or Assembly Technician.
• Experience carrying out copper brazing within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Experience installing pneumatic, hydraulic or cooling pipework systems.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• A minimum Level 2 Engineering qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive attitude with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• The ability to successfully complete a Safety Critical Medical and Drugs & Alcohol screening.
