Job summary

Unify in North Somerset is seeking a Mechanical Pipefitter to support installation at a clean water treatment plant, including pipework fabrication, installation and testing.

You will work from drawings, isometrics and site instructions in a live water environment, with a strong safety focus and compliance with confined spaces.

Immediate start available for a 5‑week initial contract with a strong likelihood of extension; ability to work safely in a small team.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Confined Spaces (mandatory).
• Water industry experience preferred (WTW, pumping stations, network upgrades).
• If not water-industry: heavy industrial background (power, petrochemical, manufacturing, food process, utilities).
• Strong mechanical installation experience with pipework systems.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and test mechanical pipework systems (stainless, ductile iron, steel).
• Support mechanical fit-out of clean water treatment process equipment.
• Work from drawings, isometrics and site instructions.
• Carry out bolting, flanging, bracketry and supports.
• Assist with commissioning preparation and mechanical checks.
• Maintain safe working practices within a regulated clean-water environment.

Role Overview

You’ll be supporting mechanical installation works on a clean water treatment facility, including pipework fabrication, installation, and associated mechanical duties. The role sits within a live water‑industry environment, so a strong safety focus and familiarity with controlled site conditions are essential.

• Install, assemble and test mechanical pipework systems (stainless, ductile iron, steel).
• Support mechanical fit‑out of clean water treatment process equipment.
• Work from drawings, isometrics and site instructions.
• Carry out bolting, flanging, bracketry and supports.
