Job summary

PD&MS Group is seeking a Pipefitter to deliver a high quality pipefitting service on oil & gas projects in Aberdeen. You will prepare and assemble piping systems, align and weld components, and ensure compliance with safety, quality and project procedures.

The role requires time-served training and relevant qualifications; you will work on site with colleagues, adhere to procedures, and support site operations to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

  • Time Served / Modern Apprenticeship approved by City & Guilds or NVQ/SVQ Level 3.
  • Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate- MJI10.
  • ECITB approved SBT 01, 02 & 03 (Installation) & 04 (Testing).
  • KT-PF (applicable to Pipefitters).
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Relevant Completions Certificate e.g. GoC/Orbit (Preferably).
  • Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate - MJI18 & MJI19 (Preferably).
  • Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training (Preferably).
  • Overhead Pendant Crane Operation (Preferably).

Responsibilities

  • To complete all Pipefitting work in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards
  • Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the scope is completed in accordance with company procedures, and to the highest standard of safety
  • Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
  • Select length of stainless steel, steel alloy, iron, copper, aluminium or plastic piping and to cut it to the required size with hacksaw, pipe cutter or machine
  • Prepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc welding
  • Bend piping by machine or heat with blow lamp and bend by hand
  • Join metal piping by soldering or thread cutting and screwing and plastic piping by cementing or fusing by hot air welding
  • Form piping from sheet metal
  • Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy
  • Install prefabricated sections on site
  • Installation of small bore tubing
  • Operate trade required machinery including relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements
  • Operate overhead cranes including basic slinging in a safe manner
  • Carry out Fire watch/Stand By duties
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment
  • Use of Oxy/fuel hand burning / heating / cutting equipment
  • Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team
  • Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete work scope in a safe and controlled manner

Education

Qualifications

Experience / Competence
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards relevant to role
