Job summary

PD&MS Energy (Aberdeen) Ltd. is seeking a skilled pipefitter to deliver high-quality pipefitting services on site in Aberdeen. You will read and follow project procedures, prepare and install piping systems, and set up for welding with accuracy and safety.

The role requires time served apprenticeship, ECITB qualifications, and safe working practices in oil & gas environments. Driving licence and safety certifications are essential for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Time served as pipefitter with relevant certification.
• Mechanical joint integrity and ECITB installation/testing qualifications.
• Safety passport and driving licence required.
• Experience with welding, bending and pipe fabrication tasks.
• Understanding of oil & gas codes and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality pipefitting services to required standards.
• Read and implement project policies and procedures and ensure safety.
• Prepare pipework and flanges for welding and alignment.
• Cut, bend and join various piping materials using appropriate methods.
• Install prefabricated sections on site and operate required machinery.
• Carry out risk assessments and support other trades as needed.

About The Role

Role summary:

The Pipefitter is required to deliver a high quality, consistent and competent Pipefitting service including making up sections of high and / or low pressure piping systems are ready for installation in accordance with Project / Company requirements, standards and procedures. To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule and to ensure that the entire work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.

Responsibilities:

• To complete all Pipefitting work in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards
• Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the scope is completed in accordance with company procedures, and to the highest standard of safety
• Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches
• Select length of stainless steel, steel alloy, iron, copper, aluminium or plastic piping and to cut it to the required size with hacksaw, pipe cutter or machine
• Prepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc welding
• Bend piping by machine or heat with blow lamp and bend by hand
• Join metal piping by soldering or thread cutting and screwing and plastic piping by cementing or fusing by hot air welding
• Form piping from sheet metal
• Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy
• Install prefabricated sections on site
• Installation of small bore tubing
• Operate trade required machinery including relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements
• Operate overhead cranes including basic slinging in a safe manner
• Carry out Fire watch/Stand By duties
• Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment
• Use of Oxy/fuel hand burning / heating / cutting equipment
• Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team
• Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete work scope in a safe and controlled manner

About You

Qualifications:

• Time Served / Modern Apprenticeship approved by City & Guilds or NVQ/SVQ Level 3, and / or relevant and recognised technical qualification approved by an appropriate awarding body
• Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate- MJI10
• ECITB approved SBT 01, 02 & 03 (Installation) & 04 (Testing)
• KT-PF (applicable to Pipefitters)
• CCNSG Safety Passport
• Valid Driving License
• Relevant Completions Certificate e.g. GoC/Orbit etc.(Preferably)
• Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate - MJI18 & MJI19(Preferrably)
• Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training (Preferably)
• Overhead Pendant Crane Operation (Preferably)

Experience / Competence:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards relevant to role
• Reasonable written and spoken English
