Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with pressure testing and inspections.

Skills

Job description

UKR Group is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to start ASAP in a job in Battersea, South West London.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine pipe layouts, depths, and alignments.
• Excavate trenches using hand tools, backhoes, and trenchers.
• Lay and position pipes to meet grade, slope, and alignment requirements.
• Connect pipes using welding, cementing, or soldering for watertight seals.
• Backfill trenches and compact soil to prevent shifting or settling.
• Assist with pressure testing and inspections to ensure compliance.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure job site.
• Locate and repair leaks or damages in underground utility systems.
• Work with equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors to complete tasks.
• Communicate clearly with team members to coordinate work and resolve issues.

Skills:

• Proven experience as a pipelayer.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Knowledge of PVC, concrete, and steel pipes and their installation.
• Experience digging trenches manually or with excavation equipment.
• Skilled in aligning and sloping pipes using levels, lasers, or transits.
• Ability to seal pipe joints using welding, cementing, or other methods.
• Familiar with pressure testing, leak detection, and regulations.
• Proficient in using trenchers, pipe cutters, compactors, and pipe-laying machines.
• Strong understanding of measurements, angles, and slope calculations.
