This is an exciting opportunity for a PIP 2 Investigator or a PIP1 investigator working towards PIP 2 to join Major Crime Headquarters. The role involves investigating serious crimes such as murder, sexual offences, and crimes in action.

Applications are sought from qualified PIP2 investigators or PIP1 investigators working towards PIP2. Successful candidates will work in Major Crime incident rooms, focusing on homicide investigations, and have opportunities to develop skills in interviewing witnesses, suspects, and supporting victims' families. Interested applicants should contact Detective Inspector Mike Roddy at michael.roddy@thamesvalley.police.uk or Detective Sergeant Alex Trevivian at alexander.trevivian@thamesvalley.police.uk.

Capability to travel across the Force is required to undertake assignments promptly. Due to unsocial hours and safety considerations for lone working, personal safety, and transport may not be suitable. A full driving license is essential.

The full-time shift pattern is attached. Weekend work is also expected.

Candidates must have either PIP2 accreditation, equivalent investigative experience, or be a PIP1 investigator working towards PIP2 accreditation to apply.

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced vetting and psychological screening due to the role's nature.

If applying as a permanent staff member, note the role will be offered on a secondment basis. Support from your line manager and department head is presumed. If not supported, a business rationale must be sent to RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.police.uk with the role's reference number.

Please note: Shift allowances, on-call, or other job-related allowances from previous roles will not be protected unless attached to the new role during the secondment.

Benefits include 24 days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time), flexible working, lifestyle discounts, career development, and the option to join a local government pension scheme. More details are available on the 'Supporting You' page linked at the bottom of the advert.
