Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to join Sussex Police as a Crime Investigator PIP2 working on a temporary contract at their location in Worthing.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE BEEN RESIDING WITHIN THE UK FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS CONTINUOUSLY.

Please note for this role you MUST have a PIP2 Qualification

Successful applicants will support Operation Bramber, which investigates potential offences at a large medical establishment in Sussex. These cases are impactful on the families of victims and survivors. You will be part of a team thoroughly investigating allegations to bring offenders to justice and ensure public safety.

Joining Sussex Police as a Crime Investigator means working on diverse cases with clear investigative directions. The role involves supporting investigations, gathering evidence, and contributing to court files to secure convictions.

Investigators are supported by supervisors and work to reduce re-offending and achieve positive outcomes for victims. Tasks include interviewing victims and witnesses, collecting forensic evidence, viewing CCTV footage, and preparing court documentation.

You will be based at Centenary House, Worthing, with some flexibility required. The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with potential adjustments in consultation with supervisors.

Skills & Experience

You should be able to handle challenging situations involving vulnerable adults, communicate effectively, and work well in a team. Confidence, initiative, problem-solving skills, and emotional resilience are essential. You must be committed to fairness, honesty, and integrity, with good IT skills and attention to detail.

Applicants must have a PIP2 qualification and meet residency criteria. The role requires working under pressure, prioritizing tasks, and demonstrating a passion for public service.
