Job summary

The Port of London Authority (PLA) is recruiting for a role within the Chief Harbour Master’s department, based at Gravesend. The post is a fixed-term 12-month contract, 35 hours per week, with a salary of £60,168 per annum.

The role focuses on pilotage data, reporting, risk assessments, and collaboration across teams to ensure safe operations on the tidal Thames. We are seeking numerate, IT-savvy candidates with strong analytical and presentation skills, capable of working in a dynamic port

Qualifications

• High numeracy and data processing ability, with analytics to support pilotage performance.
• Strong IT skills including MS Office and marine software, with ability to produce management reports.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Marine Pilotage Manager and Deputy with duties and reporting.
• Create and present detailed Pilotage reports.
• Monitor pilot levels and report concerns.
• Maintain pilotage compliance documentation register.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements.
