Job summary

Port of London Authority in Gravesend, Kent, is seeking an experienced coordinator within the Chief Harbour Master’s Department to support the Marine Pilotage Manager and Deputy. You will compile pilotage data, monitor levels, and maintain compliance documentation in a role that combines analysis with robust stakeholder engagement.

The position is fixed-term for 12 months, 35 hours per week, with a base in Gravesend. Salary is £60,168 per annum, and the closing date is 4 September 2026.

Qualifications

• High numeracy and data analysis skills with IT proficiency in MS Office and marine software.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in training matrices and coordinating with training suppliers.
• Ability to assess Health & Safety matters and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to Marine Pilotage Manager and Deputy.
• Create and present reports on Pilotage data.
• Monitor pilot levels and raise concerns to management.
• Maintain Pilotage compliance documentation.
• Develop risk assessments and method statements.
• Coordinate with VTS, Navigation Systems, and IT for operations.
• Oversee recruitment and training campaigns for pilots.
• Attend operational meetings and deliver stakeholder presentations.
