Job summary

Helio Display Materials is building the base materials for next-generation displays. We are seeking a laboratory technician or early-career chemist to support small-scale production of perovskite nanocrystal materials in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will work with experienced chemists to gain practical skills in materials synthesis, quality control, and pilot-line production, while contributing to development and scale-up efforts, safety, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or related field.
• Experience with good laboratory practice and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed experimental procedures and produce reproducible results.
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Well organised and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support pilot line production for perovskite nanocrystal materials.
• Operate small-scale production following approved recipes and processes.
• Synthesize and purify organic ligands at small scale.
• Perform quality control measurements on perovskite and organic materials.
• Support laboratory operations and maintain detailed batch records.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained and safety protocols followed.
• Collaborate with scale-up team for continuous improvement.
