Process Development Chemist – Perovskite Nanocrystals

Job summary

Helio Display Materials Limited is seeking a highly motivated synthetic/process development chemist to advance perovskite nanocrystal technology. You will bridge R&D and scale-up, developing robust synthetic methods and understanding chemistry to inform early manufacturing decisions.

You will transform promising discoveries into transferable processes, work with cross-functional teams, and apply statistical analyses to drive efficiency and product quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc/BSc with strong industrial process chemistry experience.
• Deep understanding of synthetic chemistry, ideally with nanomaterials, crystallisation or colloidal chemistry.
• Demonstrated experience in industrial development of organic and inorganic synthesis.
• Ability to handle large datasets and apply statistical analyses to maximise insight (e.g. JMP, Minitab).
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, able to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute synthesis, purification and characterisation experiments.
• Develop deep technical understanding of novel synthetic routes for perovskite nanocrystals and organic ligands.
• Collaborate with scale-up, core-research and analytical teams.
• Build process knowledge and experimental evidence to guide manufacturing decisions.
• Propose and utilise analytical strategies to monitor reaction performance and product quality.
• Apply statistical methods to extract insight and guide process development decisions.
• Provide technical leadership for process development projects and establish timelines.
• Keep detailed records of experiments and processes.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental procedures.
