Cornwall-Staff-Agency-Ltd client in green technology seeks a Laboratory Technician or Senior Laboratory Technician for a permanent, full-time role in the UK. Qualifications

  • A-Level Science (chemistry preferred) or Degree/HND/HNC in chemistry or related discipline or engineering experience/qualifications.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory/workshop safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and practical skills, competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
  • Computer literacy is required to enter results.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Previous experience of working in a laboratory setting or an engineering workshop/industrial setting is advantageous.
  • Desirable but not essential: Familiarity with metallurgical testing methods and equipment.
  • Desirable but not essential: Forklift, overhead crane or lifting equipment certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational support in a metallurgical R&D facility.
  • Support research, testing, and development activities related to processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Assist with assembly, operation, maintenance and evaluation of processing equipment and pilot-scale process plants.
  • Work closely with metallurgists, engineers and other technical staff to ensure R&D projects are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.

  • £25,000-£35,000 DOE
  • Monday - Friday - 9am-5pm

The role:
  • The Pilot Plant Technician will provide technical and operational support in a metallurgical R&D facility.

  • The Pilot Plant Technician will assist with assembly, operation, maintenance and evaluation of processing equipment and pilot-scale process plants.
