Job summary

NEOS Engineering is seeking a Piling Rig Engineer to join the Swadlincote workshop team in Derbyshire. The role focuses on servicing, maintenance and repair of specialist piling equipment with occasional on-site fault diagnosis and travel.

The ideal candidate has heavy plant experience, a Level 3 Plant Maintenance qualification, and strong electrical/mechanical fault-finding skills; hydraulic knowledge is a plus. Driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer or Heavy Plant Mechanic or similar.
• Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance or an equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty construction plant.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills, ideally with hydraulic knowledge.
• Electrical fault-finding experience would be beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a workshop team.
• Piling equipment experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on specialist piling equipment and associated machinery within the workshop.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and operational.
• Respond to occasional site breakdowns, travelling from the workshop when required.

Job description

Piling Rig Engineer

Location: Derbyshire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: 41.5 hours per week
Holiday: 22 days plus bank holidays

The Opportunity

NEOS Engineering is working with a specialist piling and geotechnical contractor looking to recruit a Piling Rig Engineer to join its workshop team at Swadlincote.

This is primarily a workshop-based position, focused on the maintenance, servicing and repair of specialist piling equipment and associated machinery.

There will also be occasional site breakdowns, where you'll be required to travel out from the workshop to diagnose and resolve faults on equipment. Overnight stays may occasionally be required, although these are not a regular part of the role.

It's a good opportunity for an experienced Plant Fitter or Engineer who enjoys working on heavy construction machinery and has a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

The Role
