Job summary

Van Elle is recruiting Piling Operatives for our Kirkby-in-Ashfield site. You will join a skilled team, with training provided to help you develop and progress in the role. The job is full-time and permanent, located in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, NG17 8GJ.

Hours are 7.30am–6.00pm, Monday to Friday, with 22 days of holiday plus bank/public holidays. We offer a company pension, Healthcare Cash Plan with a family option, and ongoing training at our onsite training centre.

Qualifications

• CSCS card required for site access.
• Slinger/signaller (CPCS) as a minimum qualification.
• Proven experience in construction or civil engineering with health and safety training.
• Willingness to work unsociable hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team for all site activities before, during and after piling.
• Liaise with supervisor and take instructions professionally.
• Support project team to deliver the project efficiently.
• Review method statements and risk assessments for the project.
• Adhere to daily piling tasks and project safety rules and procedures.
• Ensure safety policies are understood and followed.
• Promptly report near misses, accidents and safety concerns.
• Complete site records and assist with inspections of plant and lifting equipment.

Looking to build your career in ground engineering? We’re looking for Piling Operatives of all experience levels to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor.

You’ll be part of a skilled team, with training provided to help you develop your skills and progress in the role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work as part of team for all site activities, before, during and after piling activities.
• Liaise and take instructions from your supervisor in a professional manner
• Support project team and supervisor in efficient delivery of the project.
• Review and understand all method statements and risk assessments relating to the project.
• Be familiar with daily/piling tasks and project specific safety rules, policies and procedures ensuring adherence to them.
• Be familiar with and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health and Safety Policy.
• Ensure that near misses, accidents, incidents and other safety concerns are promptly reported at the appropriate level.
• Complete all site records requested by company or supervisor.
• Assist with inspections of all plant, lifting equipment and recording on the appropriate forms.
• Ensure plant is adequate for the task prior to being used.
• Be respectful to all people you interact with, treating everyone equally and embracing differences
• Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values
• Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
• Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.

Who We're Looking For

• An appropriate Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) card.
• Slinger/signaller (CPCS) required as minimum
• Proven relevant experience in construction or civil engineering, as well as appropriate health and safety training
• Take personal responsibility and accountability for your actions, constantly striving to improve and exceed expectations ensuring safety and quality are never compromised.
• Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours, nights and weekends.

Other Requirements

• Eligible to work and live in the UK.
• Flexibility to travel in the UK.
• A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK (desirable)
