Job description

We're recruiting for a Pig Manager for a family-run farming business in Dorset DT2.

The performance-driven farm seeks to employ a hands-on, performance-driven individual who can motivate and lead a team of four.

This position ideally suits someone with 5+ years of experience, a proven track record, and a strong work ethic to maintain an existing high performance.

The pig unit has 1100 sows with progeny up to 7kg, fully indoor systems with automatic wet feed systems and fully ventilated housing.

Candidates need to demonstrate:

Experience working with and managing livestock is essential

Motivation with the desire for continuous improvement

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team

Passion for farming, determination and capability with an excellent eye for detail

Experience in working within a fast-paced environment

Willingness to learn new skills

Good understanding of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel (would be an advantage)

Good time management skills

Starting Salary: From £40,000 DOE

Plus:

28 days holiday, including bank holidays

Workplace pension

3-bed family housing

Hours: 12 days on, two days off & every 2nd weekend.
