We're recruiting for a Pig Manager for a family-run farmingbusiness in Dorset DT2.

The performance-driven farm seeks to employ a hands-on, performance-driven individual who can motivate and lead a team of four.

This position ideally suits someone with 5+ years of experience, but theproducer would look at less experienced applicants and those looking to step up to be a manager.
A proven track record and a strong work ethic to maintain an existing high performance is a must.

The pig unit has 1100 sows with progeny up to 7kg, fully indoor systems with automatic wet feed systems and fully ventilated housing.


Candidates need to demonstrate:

  • Experience working with and managing livestock is essential
  • Motivation with the desire for continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
  • Passion for farming, determination and capability with an excellent eye for detail
  • Experience in working within a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Good understanding of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel (would bean advantage)
  • Good time management skills

Starting Salary: From £40,000 DOE

Plus:

  • 28 days holiday, including bank holidays
  • Work Place Pension
  • 3-bed family housing

Hours:12 days on, two days off every 2nd weekend.
