Job summary

Meadowcroft PICU at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Worker (Band 3) to support male patients with engaging activities on and off the ward. You will work within a multidisciplinary team using strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan Activities: Design a flexible weekly timetable of group and one-to-one sessions based on patient choices, interests, and care plans. This includes arts, games, physical fitness, and basic life skills.
• Support Recovery: Use activities to help patients build confidence, reduce boredom, manage symptoms, and learn coping skills.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Occupational Therapists and nurses as part of a wider team to support each patient's journey to a less restrictive ward.
• Monitor Patients: Observe how patients react during activities, track their progress, and report any changes in their behaviour or mental state to the nursing team.
