Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting a Picker & Packer for a well-established food production client in East Grinstead. You will work Tue-Sat, 12:00–20:00, in a chilled environment, picking and packing to meet customer orders.

Key duties include weighing, labelling, dispatch preparation, ensuring food safety standards, maintaining hygiene, and collaborating with other departments to hit daily targets. Previous food industry experience is desirable but not essential.

• Experience in food production or packing is desirable but not essential.
• Comfortable working in a chilled environment.
• Able to work accurately with attention to detail.
• Physically fit with ability to perform manual handling.
• Reliable and punctual; works as part of a team.
• Must be comfortable with meat products.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack food products accurately to customer orders in a chilled environment.
• Weigh, label and prepare products for dispatch.
• Ensure products meet quality and food safety standards; report issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in packing area.
• Work with other departments to meet daily targets.
• Comply with health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
• Place damaged goods in quarantine or report.
• Assist with stock movement from goods-in to packing area.

The Best Connection are proudly recruiting for a

Picker & Packer to join a well-established client in

East Grinstead, operating within the

food production industry and supplying high-quality products to commercial and private customers.

Hours for Picker and Packer: Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm to 8pm

Key Responsibilities of the Picker & Packer:

• Working in a chilled environment picking and packing food products accurately to customer orders


• Weighing, labelling, and preparing products for dispatch


• Ensuring products meet quality and food safety standards, reporting any issues to the relevant department


• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the packing area


• Working closely with other departments to meet daily targets.


• Complying with health and safety and food hygiene regulations at all times


• Placing damaged goods into the quarantine area for return or reporting


• Assisting with the movement of stock from goods-in to the warehouse or packing area, including stock put-away

Requirements of the Picker & Packer:

Must be comfortable working with and around meat products.

• Previous experience in food production, packing, or butchery is desirable but not essential


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately


• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team


• Comfortable working in a chilled environment


• Physically fit and capable of manual handling


• Good understanding of health and safety practices
