Job summary

Booker Group is seeking a Van Driver to join our delivery team. You will perform picking for the delivery operation and support the delivered service to ensure customers receive deliveries on time. A full driving license is required.

You will load stock, use a handheld terminal to pick and dispatch goods, and handle enquiries with a high standard of customer service. Booker is the UK's leading food & drink wholesaler with over 190 cash and carry branches, 8 distribution centres, 5 Best Food

• A valid full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience in delivery/picking is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into the vehicle and unload at customer premises.
• Ensure deliveries are made on time with high service standards.
• Resolve customer queries and escalate complex issues.

Within this role you will have the opportunity as a permanent member of the team to join ourdelivery team.

You will join the business as a Van driver with a mix of duties, including pickingfor thedelivery teamwhich includes supporting the delivered operation in achieving first class customer service.

You will need a full driving license to be considered for this role.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

Responsible for the accurate picking and dispatch of goods bypicking against a hand held terminal and advising Manager of any differences.

Checking quality, shelf life and ensuring packaging is robust in preparation for Delivery.

Responsible for providing a high standard of customer service by processing deliveries efficientlyand to target.

Providing first class service to our customers when delivering their goods.

Being polite when dealing with delivery staff and responding appropriately to queries and complaints referring any complex situations to someone who can help.

You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.
