Job summary

Direct Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd is seeking an experienced Pick-Up and Trailer Driver to join a busy, well-established Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

You will collect and deliver vehicles using a car transporter trailer, load and secure cars, perform pre-collection checks, and handle related paperwork. Monday to Friday, full-time in a professional automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with towing entitlement ideally.
• Experience loading, securing and transporting vehicles.
• Experience within automotive logistics or PDI-centres is advantageous.

Pick-Up and Trailer Driver - Stoke-on-Trent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Pick-Up and Trailer Driver to join a busy and well-established Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre based in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident driver with previous experience towing vehicle trailers, transporting cars and working within the automotive industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and delivering vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring they arrive in excellent condition while supporting the day-to-day operations of the PDI Centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a pick-up vehicle with a car transporter trailer to collect and deliver vehicles.


• Safely loading, securing and unloading vehicles onto trailers.


• Transporting vehicles between dealerships, customer sites and the PDI Centre.


• Carrying out vehicle checks before collection and delivery.


• Inspecting vehicles for any damage and accurately reporting issues.


• Ensuring all vehicles are handled carefully and professionally.


• Completing relevant collection, delivery and vehicle movement paperwork.


• Following road safety regulations and company procedures.


• Maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the pick-up vehicle and trailer.


• Assisting with vehicle movements around the PDI Centre when required.

Requirements

• Previous experience driving a pick-up and towing a car transporter trailer is highly desirable.


• Full UK driving licence with the appropriate towing entitlement.


• Experience loading, securing and transporting vehicles.


• Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle transportation procedures.


• Confident manoeuvring and reversing with a trailer.


• Previous experience within automotive logistics, vehicle movements or a PDI Centre would be advantageous.


• Excellent attention to detail and a responsible approach to vehicle handling.


• Reliable, punctual and professional.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday.


• Full-time hours.
