Location: 123 Flemington Street, Springburn, Glasgow, G21 4TD

Salary: £27,993 - £30,647 per year

Contract Type: Temporary

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Job Description:

The post holder is required to support the Performing Arts Curriculum Manager and teams in the musical aspects of class delivery and the Production phase of the College Performing Arts provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The main activities of the post to be undertaken by the post holder will include:
  • Support student productions by providing accompaniment and inputting to the selection of musicians where appropriate
  • Support the teaching of harmonies, musicalities and timing through piano accompaniment
  • Be piano accompanist to classes and rehearsals in production phase of delivery
  • Undertake appropriate professional development to meet any needs which may subsequently be identified by the College’s career development review process.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

Qualifications:

  • Ideally educated to SCQF level 7 or equivalent
  • Evidence of appropriate CPD.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of current practice relating to Musical Theatre performances

Skills and Competencies:

  • Vocal coaching of young people
  • Accompanist

Experience:

Candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills with both industry professionals and a learner centred approach when working with young people of all abilities.
