Catastrophic Loss / Personal Injury Solicitor

We are currently assisting a well-respected law firm in their search for an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (or similar legal professional) to join their renowned Catastrophic Loss team. This team is considered one of the largest and most respected in the UK, with national recognition for its work in handling complex, high-value, and catastrophic loss claims.

The firm acts on behalf of several high-profile insurers and clients, dealing with claims that often involve the most severe injuries, including brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, polytrauma, brachial plexus injuries, psychiatric injuries, and chronic pain.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive within the Catastrophic Injury team, you will be responsible for:

Assisting a senior partner in managing a caseload of high-value claims, including defendant catastrophic injury, Employer Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), and Road Traffic Accident (RTA) matters, with claims up to £20m.

Drafting legal documents, including pleadings and reports to clients, and representing clients in court hearings.

Conducting liability investigations, gathering evidence, instructing medical experts, and addressing complex medical causation issues.

Managing deadlines and prioritising a busy caseload, in line with court directions and client service expectations.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external parties, while fostering business development opportunities.

Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team, acting as a point of reference within the group.

About You:
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

1 to 4 years PQE (or equivalent experience) in litigation, with a focus on catastrophic injury or serious injury work.

A strong technical understanding of Employers Liability, Public Liability, RTA, and catastrophic injury claims, or a genuine interest in these areas.

Experience handling high-value defendant personal injury files, either independently or as part of a senior team.

A professional, commercial mindset, with experience working within a dynamic, client-focused environment.
