Large Loss Solicitor

We have a rare opportunity for a seasoned Large Loss Solicitor to join a leading serious injury unit. REMOTE WORKING AVAILABLE.

The Role:

To handle a portfolio of claimant serious injury claims. The caseload is predominantly RTA based and involves cases with complex technical issues and quantum. The value of cases will range from £150k - £5m plus and is allocated depending on skills and experience.

To provide mentoring support to Serious Injury team colleagues within the Department handling a portfolio of compensation claims. You will be an ambassador of the business, contributing to the department strategy and growth.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Delivering the following for your individual caseload and that of your client case team:
  2. To be a technical expert in a chosen specialism
  3. Providing excellent client care to clients who have suffered traumatic and life-changing events, both on individual cases and while overseeing the team
  4. Ensuring all cases are effectively progressed and assisting the Team Manager with embedding new working practices and procedures
  5. Maintaining regular communication and face-to-face meetings with clients
  6. Instructions and meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts (medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, counsel)
  7. Analysis of evidence and legal research on liability, causation, and quantum
  8. Drafting documents such as statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss
  9. Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation
  10. Optimising client settlements
  11. Raising awareness of the department and developing your profile, including involvement with organizations like APIL, Headway, and SIA, through reporting cases, preparing articles, testimonials, etc.
