Overview

Physiotherapy Technical Instructor - Band 4

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Physiotherapy

Responsibilities
  • Support our specialist physiotherapists to provide clinical excellence and outstanding patient care within the MSK department, across acute and community sites.
  • Lead on delivery of specialist exercise programs for the management of osteoarthritis of the hip and knee, and post‑operative rehabilitation protocols, with training and supervision provided as needed.
  • Contribute to patient rehabilitation programmes and participate in service audit and evaluation.
  • Assist with upkeep of the gym and related equipment; support students and the wider team.
  • Engage in a framework of competencies achieved through work-based, assessment and treatment opportunities to meet patient needs in healthcare and leisure settings.
  • Collect data to monitor patient outcomes, support evaluation of programme effectiveness, and drive innovation in service delivery; use IT skills to facilitate data collection and presentation.
  • Attend other MSK sites for training and to support delivery of MSK rehabilitation programmes; travel between sites is an essential requirement.
  • Provide support for programme delivery and supervision of staff as part of the department function.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work within a team of physiotherapists and advanced practitioners; support patient rehabilitation pathways based on current evidence and NICE guidelines.
