The Physiotherapy Department is based in the Uist and Barra Hospital in Benbecula.. The NHS Western Isles Physiotherapy service exists to deliver high quality care to patients and their carers.
The key responsibilities of the service are to provide triage, assessment, diagnosis and treatment to a diverse range of conditions and patient types in a variety of environments. There is also a key role in health promotion. All staff within the Physiotherapy Service must comply with NHS Western Isles and Departmental policies in addition to complying with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Professional Standards and Rules of Professional Conduct.
We are looking to recruit a summer student to assist with some project work and administrative functions. This will include:
This placement would be suitable for those that are studying physiotherapy or sports, exercise or health-related subject. You should have excellent communication skills and be confident in taking general enquiries. You will be required to have an eye for detail and be competent using MS office packages. It is essential that you can maintain confidentiality as you will be dealing with sensitive, personal information.
The hours will be 20hr per week, Monday to Friday, 09.00 – 13.00 although the hours are negotiable. All summer student placements are paid on Band 2 and are for a fixed term period of 3-4 months.
The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
