Job description

Are you passionate about helping people regain their independence and improve their quality of life? At Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet, were looking for a dedicated and proactive Physiotherapy Assistant to join our supportive and forward-thinking physiotherapy team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a modern hospital setting while playing a key role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

In this hands-on role, youll work under the guidance of registered physiotherapists to support patients on their rehabilitation journeys. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering individual and group-based therapeutic exercise programmes.
  • Assisting in the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients progress.
  • Carrying out manual therapy techniques (e.g., massage, passive stretches) after appropriate training.
  • Performing clinical measurements and accurately recording outcomes.
  • Providing support in pre-assessment clinics and contributing to discharge planning.
  • Liaising with external providers to organise the delivery and safe installation of rehabilitation equipment.
  • Supporting patients and families with advice and clear information about post-operative rehabilitation.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and upholding confidentiality in all aspects of patient care.
  • Supporting the department through clerical duties, stock checks, ordering, and equipment maintenance.
