We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Physiotherapist withan interest in developing their community skills to join our team as part ofthe Falls Prevention team. The job isperfect to get a grounding in community working in a busy Multi-Disciplinary teamthat offer assessment and self-management exercise programmes to people whohave a fear of falling or have fallen. Theteam offer provide Falls Multi-Factorial Risk Assessments and fallsintervention based on the Otago programme in weekly group sessions and homeexercise program one-to-ones.
The post holder would be working in peopleshomes, in clinics and in a variety of community exercise venues.
Thepost offers an ideal intensive experience within this service where the postholder will have the opportunity to shadow in other physiotherapy areas andengage in the wide variety of tasks that make up the running of a team. A full andvalid driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.

Toprovide specialist assessment and treatment of patients who may have complexacute, chronic, or multiple pathology presentations requiring rehabilitation inthe community setting. To do so as partof the delivery of a Multi-Factorial Risk Assessment delivered by the FallsPrevention Service.
Tohave clinical responsibility for a caseload of complex patients.
To formulate goalfocused treatment plans and delegate appropriately to Exercise Instructors forprovision of falls prevention rehabilitation programmes.
Towork autonomously and as a member of the broader multi-disciplinary team,ensuring the communication of information to all health and social careagencies involved, to meet the holistic needs of the patient.
Tocontribute to the planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of the FallsPrevention Service
Toprovide supervision and support to less junior staff, assistants, other professionalsand act as clinical educator for undergraduate students.
Our Physiotherapy Team has an excellent mix of skills and experience and as part of the Therapies Service the post holder will receive supervision and clinical support in a team that has a very active in-service training programme and offers exciting opportunities to develop through experiential learning.
