The Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified or developing band 5 physiotherapist to join the Orkney Health and Care Partnership, based in the Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall. This is an opportunity to work across a range of clinical areas, gaining valuable experience and developing your skills in Long-Term Conditions, Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatients, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Respiratory, Neurology Rehabilitation, Frailty and Falls Prevention.

You will be a motivated and enthusiastic person to become part of an effective team, providing a high standard of clinical care to patients, allowing you to explore different specialties and build a strong foundation in physiotherapy practice. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues and benefit from regular supervision, CPD opportunities, and a welcoming team culture.

The Candidate

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive physiotherapist who is eager to learn and grow within a supportive environment. Whether you are newly qualified or have some experience, we welcome your application.

Essential qualities include:

• BSc/MSc Physiotherapy
• HCPC registration
• Driving License – It is essential that the post holder has access to transport and if driving themselves, should hold a full driving licence. If by virtue of a disablement, an applicant has the qualifications to perform the post but cannot drive, then the possibility of adjustments to arrange transport will be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to delivering person-centred care
• Willingness to work flexibly across different clinical areas
• Motivation to engage in ongoing professional development

This post will be based at The Balfour

The successful candidate will work: Full Time 37 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is Band 5 £33,247 - £41,424 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,654 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
