What Your Typical Day Looks Like:

  • Be the first point of contact for expert clinical assessment and diagnosis of MSK (musculoskeletal) conditions in primary care settings.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and refer patients effectively using advanced clinical reasoning and assessment tools.
  • Lead on and develop effective communication between primary care services and other care providers.
  • Provide direct patient care while ensuring a seamless and integrated care pathway.
  • Develop and implement tailored care programmes, including self-management plans and specialist referrals.
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice to primary care multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Manage a caseload independently, prioritising patient care based on clinical need.
  • Stay up to date with clinical practice and professional guidelines.
To Be a Successful First Contact Physiotherapist, You Will Need:

  • Professional Registration: HCPC registration
  • Education: BSc in Physiotherapy (MSc or equivalent Level 7 qualification desirable)
  • Experience: Significant experience working at an advanced level in MSK, with autonomous decision-making capabilities
  • Skills: Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
  • Independent Prescriber: (or working towards) desirable
  • Additional Skills: Experience in developing integrated care plans and working within a multi-disciplinary team
