Job summary

Eden Girls' Leadership Academy, Manchester seeks a Deputy Director of Learning Science with Physics Specialism to shape strategic direction for the department, drive high-quality teaching and learning, and raise attainment across pupils.

You will support the Director of Learning, coach colleagues to achieve targets, develop innovative curricula, and lead enrichment and intervention programmes beyond school hours while modelling professional learning and safeguarding commitments.

Qualifications

• A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
• The ability to teach to GCSE standard.
• The ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve individual and collective targets.
• Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
• Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Learning to devise and implement a development plan for staff with clear annual targets using up to date performance data.
• Support the Director of Learning to develop, demonstrate and disseminate across school a range of strategies for outstanding teaching and learning to raise the achievement of the subject, and of different pupils.
• Sustain and enhance attainment in designated subjects within the Department by embedding innovative assessment for learning tools.
• Support the Director of Learning to develop and manage the introduction of new and revised curricula.
• Plan, support and deliver intervention and enrichment programmes outside of school hours to support learning and achievement by all pupils.
