Job summary

Star Academies is recruiting a Head of Physical Education (Deputy Director of Learning - Creative Faculty) to lead and develop the department within our ambitious school network. You will oversee curriculum development, drive outstanding teaching and learning, coach colleagues to meet targets, and collaborate with partners to raise pupil attainment across the faculty.

A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status are required, with the ability to teach to GCSE standard, and a track

• Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a development plan for departmental staff with annual targets.
• Develop, demonstrate and disseminate strategies for outstanding teaching and learning to raise attainment.
• Sustain attainment in designated subjects by embedding innovative assessment for learning tools.
• Develop and manage the introduction of new and revised curricula.
• Plan, support and deliver intervention and enrichment programmes outside of school hours.
• Lead professional learning provision for staff and liaise with educational partners.
